"As part of the largest flexible packaging company in the Americas, we have had the opportunity & pleasure to work in harmony with Elmira Pet Products for well over twenty years. During that time frame we've evolved into a partnership with them geared towards our mutual goal of developing the best packaging & graphics for their products. They value & recognize the merits of consistent quality & service as I'm sure their customers do as well. We're now pleased to say that all of our paper bags that we supply to Elmira Pet Products are manufactured from Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified paper. Elmira Pet Products & Hood Packaging are mutually committed to developing sustainable & renewable pet food packaging."
President & CEO, Can-Pet Inc.
"In 1976 when Can-Pet Inc. entered the pet specialty industry, we immediately began sourcing Premium and Ultra Premium pet foods. One of the first companies we discovered was a pet food manufacturer in Elmira,Ontario. Right from the beginning we knew that this was going to be a good partnership. Elmira Pet Products, as it is known today supplied us with a variety of pet products ranging from “good” consumer price sensitive products to “better” quality products and even “best” ingredient products to give pet owners a choice they never had before.
As Can-Pet Inc. became an industry leader, our relationship with EPP grew stronger and as their products gained in popularity we also became very confident that EPP was the right company to develop our Private Label brands. To this date some of those formulas still exist in some of our brands. Over the years as the pet specialty industry grew EPP evolved with the times, producing new innovative brands and products. Today, Can-Pet Inc. and EPP are still strong partners working together to promote pet care and nutrition while ensuring that pet owners feel confident that they are feeding the best."
Principal, MacGregor Marketing Communications Inc.
"MacGregor Marketing Communications Inc. is a small, highly effective team dedicated to helping our clients reach their audience and communicate their messages—via online or in print.
Elmira Pet has worked with us for a few years now on a number of their marketing communications initiatives, and we are privileged to be a part of their marketing team. Our first collaboration was on an ad campaign that featured a series of six ads; each developed from scratch as a concept and then realized into an excellent series of highly refined visuals. It takes a client with vision to buy into a concept in the early stages—let alone six of them—and the team at Elmira Pet had the courage and conviction to stand behind the creative and allowed us the freedom to create some great advertising. It’s a real pleasure to work with a partner that gets it—and trusts us do our best work."

Co-ordinator and Professor, Integrated Marketing Communications Program, School of Media and Design, Conestoga College
"Since 2012, Elmira Pet Products has been involved in successful partnerships within the School of Media and Design at Conestoga College that have enhanced experiential student learning. The focus of the College is to provide project-based learning which ensures students get the hands-on experience they need to graduate with the skills and knowledge sought by employers. It’s partnerships like this that contribute to the College’s record of almost 90% of its graduates obtaining employment within six months of graduation.
Elmira Pet Products has provided solid practical experience to our students by entering into client relationships with students in the
Integrated Marketing Communications and Graphic Design programs. These relationships have included the creation of marketing communications plans, the development of product packaging and the assessment of portfolio presentations in mock job interviews. These experiences broaden student understanding of the lessons taught in the classroom andenhance the educational experience by challenging students to solve real-world issues. The management at Elmira Pet Products has been strategic in its partnerships with Conestoga, but most significantly, it has backed these opportunities with thoughtful and well-informed mentoring of the involved students."
Graduate, Integrated Marketing Communications Program, School of Media and Design, Conestoga College
"While studying at Conestoga College I had the opportunity to work with Elmira Pet Products on an Integrated Marketing Communications plan. The plan required my team to familiarize ourselves with the company and its culture, and assess them to determine strengths and weaknesses. From there, we developed a plan to build and improve on the shortcomings, and leverage and effectively market the strengths and unique aspects of the company.
Our research showed us that EPP was the industry leader in terms of product development, formulation and extrusion, and our experience showed us that that was not all. The Senior Management team genuinely cared about more than just profitability; they put daily emphasis on employee happiness, company culture, and community outreach. As employers, they held themselves to the same level of quality they demand in their product: second to none.
The entire Senior Management team attended the presentation of our plan, where they met our recommendations with open arms. At this time, many of our suggestions have been implemented, and I am excited to watch the company build upon its existing foundation to become even stronger."
