DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
We have specialized in developing a large array of extruded dry cat and dog diets for over three decades. All of our formulations are designed using an integrated formulation system, providing cost-effective solutions and great flexibility. Our team consists of industry-experienced, post-graduate educated Animal Nutritionists, all with expertise in every step of the development process. We offer an extensive library of hundreds of ingredients, from customizable fresh meat blends to specialty ingredients. We strive to deliver unique solutions driving growth for global partners.
Our Product Development department provides tailored customer service from product conceptualization to store shelf and beyond, including:

ROSSANA LOPRESTI, MSc.
Product Development and Nutrition Manager
Rossana’s academic background in Animal Nutrition and work experience in veterinary clinics and pet retail stores provides a solid foundation to lead successful new and innovative projects. Rossana executes and supports our customers through each phase of the product development cycle, from product conceptualization through to deployment. But it doesn’t end here – Rossana will continue to support customers by means of formulation reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation review. Rossana ensures Elmira Pet Products remains a trusted partner to all our private label customers and prioritizes building long-term relationships. Rossana has a definite passion for companion animals. She embraces the opportunity to stay current on research in a variety of different areas, including ingredients and product safety, all with an emphasis on prioritizing animal health. Her formulation strategy focuses on the most recent research and lowest-cost formulation, while maintaining nutrient baselines and Elmira Pet Product’s excellent product integrity.
Chloe Quilliam MSc
Product Developer
Chloe has an academic background in Animal Health & Nutrition which she utilized for many years at an animal hospital. By combining her love for animals with a passion for improving their health through nutrition, she transitioned into a product development role focused on formulating nutritionally sound diets. With a strong foundation in animal health and nutrition, Chloe is dedicated to applying evidence-based practices to enhance animal well-being through her formulations. She strives to remain innovative and adapt alongside the evolving pet food industry, always prioritizing the needs of animals above all else.
Connor Goguen BA
Food Scientist
Connor has a professional background in product and process improvement and integration within the medical device sector. She brings these skills, along with experience working in a highly regulated industry, to her role as a Food Scientist at Elmira Pet Products. Connor collaborates closely with operations, quality, and procurement teams to help ensure food safety and the use of high-quality ingredients across all EPP products. She also supports product development by advancing animal nutrition and well-being through the evaluation of all ingredients and packaging materials used within the facility. Connor believes that animal well-being is integral to the health of our communities and is excited to contribute to innovations that help pets live healthier lives.
